Whirl-Away Helicopters Inc. has been working with photographic artists since 1970. Our company has been providing aerial service for still photographic productions such as brochures, advertisements, real estate, mapping, and construction, plus a variety of additional still applications. In 1980 our expertise expanded to include aerial video, aerial production, and film work.

By 1985 Whirl-Away Helicopters expanded into Electronic News Gathering, providing one of the area's first TV News Helicopters equipped for live broadcast. At the same time, we began working with production and film companies providing aerial service for TV commercials, and productions including documentaries and broadcast specials.

As the video industry continued in technical advancement, we worked in more diverse video and film applications. Companies both in government and the private sector requested specialized services such as installation of infrared cameras, and sophisticated computer equipment capable of topography, and above and below ground video survey.

Whirl-Away Helicopters has worked with companies locally, internationally and from around the US. Our pilots are trained safety first, and specifically in flight maneuvers which accommodate the most advantageous positions and angles for aerial work. Also, pilots are trained to work with the following mounting systems: Hand-held, side and nose. Our maintenance crew can assist your staff on necessary helicopter alteration and mounting systems.

We use the Bell Jet Ranger, which is equipped with a photographer's window and intercom system.

With over 30 years experience in aerial photography, our staff has the expertise to meet your aerial request from a single image to a commercial production.
